Lightning McQueen can't connect to my device

Prior to troubleshooting, if you have never connected to Lightning McQueen, first ensure that you are using a compatible device: Lightning McQueen mobile device compatibility

If you're using a compatible device, double-check that your device has Bluetooth enabled -- if you're using an Android device, also enable Location Services. Lightning utilizes Bluetooth 4.0 to create a connection to your device, so no pairing through the Bluetooth menu is necessary. Simply launch the Lightning McQueen app and hold your device close to your car. 

If your connection issue persists, try the following steps: 

  1. Uninstall the Lightning McQueen app 
  2. Restart your device 
  3. Reinstall the Lightning McQueen app 
  4. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled (Location Services too for Android users, with permissions granted in the Lightning McQueen app settings), and you have a strong WiFi connection
  5. Launch app with device resting on Lightning's roof
