Sphero Edu Account DeletionUpdated 2 days ago

NOTE: If you are looking to delete some or all of your data without deleting your account, then please contact our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

We want to make sure you have total control over your Sphero Edu data, including the deletion of your account. That includes any user accounts you might be responsible for, including the accounts of children and students that you manage. Please review the details below to better understand how to delete your own account or when it is appropriate to contact our support team for assistance.

For applicable account types, you can choose to delete your account through the iOS/macOS and Android Sphero Edu apps, or through the Sphero Edu website.

Teacher, Parent/Guardian, and Learner Accounts:

  1.   If you are a Sphero Edu user with a teacher, parent, or learner account, AND it was created with a email/username and password, then you will be able to delete your account with the following steps:
    • Sign into Sphero Edu with your account.
    • Go to the Profile page.
    •   Select the Delete Account button. In the apps, this button is the trash can icon in the profile screen.
    • You will need to confirm your password and agree to the general warning.
    • Upon completion, you will be signed out and your data will be deleted.
  2.   If you are a Sphero Edu user with a teacher, parent, or learner account, AND it was created with a Google account or Apple account, then you will be able to delete your account with the following steps:
    • Sign into Sphero Edu with your account.
    • Go to the Profile page.
    •   Select the Delete Account button. In the apps, this button is the trash can icon in the profile screen.
    • Agree to the general warning.
    • Upon completion, you will be signed out and your data will be deleted.
  3. If you are a teacher and have an account created with Clever, then you will need to contact our support team to delete your account. We may need to work with your school or district to change or disable roster syncing for specific accounts/classes.
WARNING:
If you delete your account, all your data will be deleted, including custom programs, user settings, activity progress, custom activities, and any other content you may have on the platform. Furthermore, if you manage a class or have associated children accounts, then those classes, accounts, and all associated content will also be deleted. Account deletion is comprehensive and cannot be undone. We do not temporarily store deleted data - it is immediately processed for deletion. Please be careful when initiating this process.

The images below provide an example of an account deletion flow with a valid account, as presented in the iOS app:

Student and Young Learner Account

Managed students and children can’t delete their own accounts. If you are a parent/guardian or a teacher, and manage the accounts for your children or students, then you can delete these accounts with the class and family management tools on the Sphero Edu website. Follow these steps to delete learner accounts that you manage:

  1. Visit the Sphero Edu website and sign in with your parent/guardian or teacher account.
  2. Once signed in, go to the class/family managementpage. You will look for these options from the navigation bar:
  3. From the center panel displaying students or children, look for the Edit buttons. These have different text depending on if you are a parent/guardian or teacher:
  4.   You will then need to select the learners to delete and select the Delete button:

NOTE: If you don't want to fully delete an account for your student or child, but would instead prefer to temporary block access, then you can do so by using the Deactivate button instead of the Delete button. Deactivated accounts cannot be accessed until reactivated, but the user data is not deleted.
