Sphero not Holding a Charge

Updated 4 months ago by mike moran

Sphero's battery should last up to 60 minutes of constant play on a full charge. If Sphero has been fully charged but loses energy and turns off shortly after connecting, please try the following:

  • Ensure Sphero sits properly in the charging cradle, heavy side down, and receives a full charge. To find his heavy side, place him on a hard surface like a table. Sphero will naturally settle with this sweet spot at the bottom. The charger will blink blue when charging begins, turning solid when complete.
  • Plug Sphero's charger into a different outlet/power source and repeat the previous step.

If you've attempted both steps but Sphero continues to die quickly after connecting, please contact us.

Sphero's battery life will decrease over time and use. An older Sphero 2.0 may not have as long of battery life as a new Sphero 2.0.
