Physical Access

There is no physical data transfer available from the robot or charger - the USB cable is for power transfer only.

Accounts & Authentication

There are no user accounts or authentication associated with the hardware of the robot.

Data Storage & Privacy

Sphero stores anonymous usage and diagnostic data on the robot’s memory such as battery cycles, distance driven and hardware condition. The data is regularly sent to Sphero’s statistics engine to improve the user experience and diagnose user problems, but there is no personally-identifiable information stored on the robot.

COPPA Compliance 

Sphero does not knowingly collect personal information or create profiles for users under 13 without use of the Sphero EDU platform. Sphero and outside counsel reviewed information collection practices for compliance with child privacy laws, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
